Your guide to taking action for reproductive rights in Pennsylvania

A weekly roundup of Pennsylvania political events, advocacy opportunities, protests, and more ways to take action for reproductive rights statewide.

It’s been four years since the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade, a revolutionary ruling that enshrined abortion rights for all Americans. Since this reversal, states around the US have restricted and even banned basic reproductive rights like abortion.

Here in Pennsylvania, abortion, contraceptive, and reproductive care remain largely protected. However, this doesn’t mean the fight for reproductive rights stops there, as there are still regulations surrounding abortion and the Pennsylvania Constitution has yet to solidify these protections.

Want to fight to keep reproductive rights in Pennsylvania? Here are some ways you can take action.

Actions

One of the best ways to protect reproductive rights is with your vote, Pennsylvania! You have the power to elect officials who protect your rights, not threaten them.

Here at Keystone, we have plenty of resources to check your registration status before Election Day. Our voter registration tool will check your registration, update you on important election dates, and it can even tell you where your polling place is.

Stay prepared ahead of Election Day and check your registration status with Keystone’s voter registration tool.

Volunteer at Planned Parenthood

One of the best ways to provide direct support for reproductive rights is to help the organization responsible for caring for thousands of Pennsylvanians every day.

Planned Parenthood and its Pennsylvania branch, Planned Parenthood Keystone, are the leading providers of reproductive health care in Pennsylvania. This care goes far beyond just abortion; Planned Parenthood also provides services like Pap smears, preventative care, birth control management, and much more.

Planned Parenthood is always looking for volunteers to help them provide this essential care. If you’re interested in volunteering your time, please visit Planned Parenthood Keystone’s ‘Take Action’ page.

Sign a petition

Sometimes, volunteering your time isn’t always possible. But don’t worry! There are more ways to take action. There are multiple petitions gaining momentum around Pennsylvania. Many of these petitions demand that lawmakers add a reproductive rights amendment to the ballot in Pennsylvania.

Want to help enshrine reproductive rights for all Pennsylvanians for generations?

Sign the Action Network’s petition to tell your lawmakers you want to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Have an event to add? Email State Organizing Coordinator Ava Edwards at ava@couriernewsroom.com. Please send details at least one week before the event.
